TRAINING OF WOMEN ON NUTRITION AND HYGIENE IN BOLE COMMUNITY ON 17th AUGUST 2017

The training for women on nutrition and hygiene in Bole community was held on 17th August 2017. The participants came along with their children who are below the ages of 5 to be tested for malnutrition.
A total of 34 women were trained; 46 children were tested of malnutrition using mowak and scale.
Murmushi People’s Development Foundation carried out the training.

OBJECTIVE OF THE TRAINING

·       To train women on Nutrition and Hygiene in Bole Community
·       To identify malnourished children in Bole Community
OUTCOME OF THE TRAINING

·       34 women were trained in Bole on nutrition and hygiene
·       46 children were tested of malnutrition out of which 6 cases of moderate acute malnutrition were identified and 2 cases severe acute malnutrition was also identified.

METHODOLOGY
The women were mobilized through the Sarauniya (Queen) of Bole Community; she is also a volunteer in the organization. The training took place outside the LEA primary school.


CONCLUSION
The participants understanding on nutrition and hygiene have greatly increased. Based on their responses, it is obvious that the training was an eye opener as they appreciated their roles.
